WIT Sales & Refining is a San Jose, CA Precious Metals Refinery, which has served the electronics and plating industries since 1980. It is a fully permitted Treatment Facility (TDSF) and Hazardous Waste Transporter by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control. Selected precious metals are recovered and refined from encapsulated materials and plating solutions that are generated as scrap or contaminants by the electronics industry. These recovered metals are refined to .9995 purity. Special operations include metals recovery from, and the cleaning of, vacuum/vapor deposition fixtures and sputtering machine shielding. Reclamation and disposal of base metals, such as Cu. Al, and SnPb are also offered as a further service.

WIT Sales & Refining occupies a 7200 square foot freestanding building on 1.3 acres. Equipment includes three chemical strip tanks (900 gal. capacity), two rinse tanks (700 gal. capacity), and three precipitation tanks (300 gal capacity). Four hundred gallons of the strip capacity have a specially designed sparging system to enhance the processing of vacuum vapor deposition fixtures and sputtering machine shielding. A large capacity mechanical cleaner is also part of the primary cleaning process. Approved and permitted ventilation and fume scrubber systems function over process lines and the purification room. A bonded area is for ultra high purity parts storage and refined product.
